Overview

Design and manage mechanical fluid systems for UK nuclear new build projects.

Tasks

Representing the client side delivery services, this person will sit within the team who deliver overview and multi-disciplinary coordination in the areas of safety case justifications, configuration & change management, documentation management and technical reporting, whilst ensuring alignment to nuclear industry standards and QA processes within a nuclear environment. -Take ownership of full configuration management duties, including communicating & interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders. -Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. -Asses, determine and manage justifications for safety cases. -Checking P&IDs, as well as raising and validating design changes where required. -Coordinating with vendors and suppliers on the technical aspects of mechanical fluid systems topics. -Review and manage system documentation - ensuring accuracy, consistency, and proper traceability -Produce technical reports, and providing technical input and support to any client office and site-based activities when required . -Take responsibility for mechanical fluid systems deliverables within the client offices on UK nuclear new build projects (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and hydraulic systems - pumps, valves, pipework, heat exchangers).

What You Bring

Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build). -Training & Development, including additional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your role -Demonstrable experience in a regulated environment such as Nuclear (desirable), Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or similar. -Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interface with multi-discipline teams and suppliers. -Experience with thermal-hydraulic modelling, transient analysis, or CFD tools is advantageous. -Familiar with industry codes, safety cases, standards, and QA processes in regulated environments. -A minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Process or Nuclear Engineering. -Reside locally to Gloucestershire or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage. -Experience producing P&IDs, technical specifications, reports, and system documentation, ideally alongside strong documentation and verification skills with excellent attention to technical detail and compliance. -Extensive experience in design, analysis, quality assurance or safety cases, ideally with one or more of the following: pumps, valves, steam release systems, heat exchangers, demineralised & potable water systems.
