The Role

Overview

Supports HSE compliance, audits, training, incident management for construction projects.

Tasks

-Implement and maintain regional HSE management systems (including COR and ISO standards). -Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments; follow up with corrective actions. -Provide training, coaching, and communication on HSE policies and standards. -Act as backup support for other HSE staff and attend meetings to provide HSE guidance -Support environmental programs: waste management, pollution control, spill response, and compliance with environmental regulations. -Manage incident reporting, investigations, and worker’s compensation claims/return-to-work programs. -Monitor fleet safety (driver risk, GPS data) and preventative maintenance for tools/equipment.

What You Bring

-Previous experience with HSE systems that meet COR, and familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 1400 and applicable HSE standards. -Detailed working knowledge of provincial Occupational Health & Safety Acts and Regulations, WSIB legislation, fire and electrical codes. -Minimum 5 years of proven working experience in the HSE field within the construction environment, union and non-union. -Post-secondary in Health & Safety/Environment or equivalent. CRSP designation (or in progress) is an asset. -Superior computer skills – Excel, MSWord, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.
