The Role

Overview

Assist drilling operations, collect soil and groundwater samples, ensure safety.

Tasks

-Perform drilling services and well installations by operating and/or supporting drilling equipment to bore exploratory vertical holes into the earth to evaluate soil type and obtain intact soil and groundwater samples to evaluate subsurface conditions -Ensure all equipment is accounted for daily -Ensure sufficient supplies are gathered for the day -Active participation in all safety/tailgate meetings -Maintenance and care of all assigned equipment -Travel to remote locations throughout Florida and southeast USA in support of project work -Ensure the Company vehicle is kept clean and orderly -Inspect drill rigs and associated equipment -Perform manual labor by assembling and disassembling equipment. -Maintains an accurate drill log -Work with Engineers, Geologists, and Environmental Scientists to obtain soil and groundwater samples to evaluate subsurface conditions -Safely execute drilling activities according to Action’s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, OSHA code of federal regulations -Operate miscellaneous equipment (e.g. water / steam pressure washers, cement pumps) -Completes all necessary paperwork

What You Bring

-TWIC Port ID and MICCS cards preferred -Ability to Read and Write, as well as ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check is required -Skilled in soil sampling, groundwater sampling, well installation and abandonment required -Must be detail oriented -Demonstrate positive attitude, enthusiasm, initiative, and strong organizational abilities -Class A or B driver’s license strongly preferred -40 hour OSHA and MSHA new miner training preferred -Safety conscious work ethic required -Ability to travel out of town occasionally -1+ years of experience operating a drill rig/geoprobe required -Proficient at Drilling and setting wells with HSA, Soil and groundwater sampling with MC-5 and SP-16 -Strong organization and communication skills
