Traffic Engineer

Overview

Design and manage traffic engineering projects, mentor staff, and support business development.

Tasks

-Mentor junior staff and help grow the traffic department. -Participating in project scoping, fee estimating and proposal activities -Conduct field reviews to identify safety and operational issues. -Design ITS, traffic signal, and lighting systems. -Marketing of clients and projects with a focus on transportation planning and traffic engineering. -Analyze intersection and highway levels of service -Design complex traffic control during construction plans. -Develop signing and pavement marking plans. -Prepare Also plans for PSE with specifications, TABS, and estimates. -Coordinate work tasks and reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of work. -Perform work within project deadlines. -Coordinate internal traffic work to support other Lochner offices. -Assist in development of new business via client meetings and participation in promotional activities and professional organizations. -Conduct signal timing studies, evaluation of signal systems, and adaptive signal systems.

What You Bring

-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Clearly communicate work through drawings, documents, reports, and verbal exchange. -PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike experience required. -Professional License (PE) in Pennsylvania required. -5+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience. -B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. -Experience using CADD design software. -Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills. -Solid verbal and written communication skills.
