The Role

Overview

Perform electrical and instrumentation inspections for offshore energy projects.

Tasks

-Control Center including storage of received equipment, Installation of panel board, console, rack, etc., control center wiring, Testing (continuity, insulation resistance, etc.), -Review Disciplines' Quality Control Documentation for Completeness -Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects -Operate a motor vehicle -Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, and work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands. -Wear PPE protection for body, vision, and hearing protection -Motors storage and maintenance, nameplate data, check bearings, oil levels, wiring and terminal connections, witness uncoupled run-in and confirm amperage load 7 temperature, start up and operational testing, including coupled run-in. -Gives and receives constructive feedback -CCTV Systems equipment inspections, installation and testing of system. -Control panels inspections, installation, and testing. -Employee shall report the results of all vendor and construction site inspections on a weekly basis or more frequently as advised by client for a specific task. Inspection reports shall clearly show the items / activities inspected, inspection status, acceptance criteria, and follow-up action as necessary. Inspection reports shall be in a paper or electronic format as agreed to by client. -Identify color differences -Batteries and chargers confirm ratting, cable connections and proper installation testing. Confirm charge and electrolyte level. -Ensures that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans -Reports to Project Manager (PM) as line manager. Project Coordinator will support PM on issuing instructions or communications to employee. -Grounding systems check for connections and splices prior to backfill, check continuity, and cable type, size and test. -Cable type and location, verify circuit identification, check seals, glands and inspect termination. -Wear PPE for skin protection -Review disciplines' quality control documentation for completeness -Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility -Lighting confirms area classification, verify equipment and locations, weatherproofing, operation and setting of time switches. System testing and nighttime illumination check. -Ensures that important information from management is shared with employees and others as appropriate -Signal lines including inspection of materials, installation of tubing, fitting, valves, witness air blow, leak tests, Continuity tests. -Daily contact and technical reporting to site client contact or client Quality Team representatives. -Space heater monitoring -Instrument Pressure Lines including visual inspection of tag numbers, dip high and low pressure, slope, support, material & rating, purging requirements, Pressure & leak tests, Wiring including Cable identification & tag no., installation, cable gland and sealing, line-line and line-ground resistance, Testing (continuity, insulation resistance, etc.) -Loop Tests including Input/output signal loops, c alibration of instruments including all digital and analog instruments, control valves, either pre-installed or instruments installed at site, Installation of instruments including verification of correct instruments, stands, etc.

What You Bring

-During summer season humidity is above 90%. Noise can be over 85 decibels and the light is intense/glare. -Twist body, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated, and work with arms extended overhead. -Lift 20-50 pounds -Earthing resistance -Lift up to 10 pounds -Calibration of meters, relays switchgear -Work surface is stable, height is elevated. Use of ladders and scaffold for some access. -Lift 10-25 pounds -Fire Alarm Systems component checks and installation and testing. -Cathodic Protection Systems including all phases of material inspection, installation, and testing. -Confined space required but infrequent -Requires working on or near oil and gas plant equipment, pumps, skids, modules -Circuit breaker and contractor setting & trip check, installation, alignment, and level, ancillary installation, and busbar connection. -Working outside for extended periods of time in temperatures as high as 49°C. -15 years’ experience as Electrical Inspector with offshore related experience. -Insulation resistance -Cable trays and trenches inspection, insulation resistance test, grounding continuity, cable identification and condition. -Transformer installation and levelling, polarity of terminals and phase sequence. -Degree or Trade certification -Comp EX Electrical EX01 -Circuit breaker & contactors setting.
