The Role

Overview

Support foreperson, supervise highway maintenance crews, ensure safety and equipment operation.

Tasks

-Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew -Help ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly -Operate equipment on work sites as needed -Assist leadership with daily tasks including safety toolbox meetings, equipment inspection, and road condition inspection reports -Will be required to work shifts, on-call, and nights as necessary -Support Foreperson in the planning of work to meet contractual milestones -Work will be outdoors in various weather conditions

What You Bring

-Snow plow experience is preferred -Previous supervisory experience in highway maintenance, road construction, bridges or related field is required -Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol and audiogram testing -Professional written and verbal communication skills -Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement and a clear 3-year driver's abstract -Strong understanding of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications -Computer skills are an asset

Benefits

-Will be provided a base hourly rate from $33.75/hr -Operators will be eligible to receive a premium starting at $14/hour when performing winter operations as a Class 1 operator and while operating the tow plow unit -Eligible to receive premiums starting at $8/hour, when performing winter maintenance operations
