The Role

Tasks

-Determines parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. -Maximizes efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization. -Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. -Builds employee engagement through positive working relationships & promotion of an enthusiastic & open atmosphere where employees will want to offer their ideas. -Utilize a data driven KPI based approach to drive continuous improvement and achieve production targets. -Works with planning and purchasing to ensure that the production schedule can be achieved and is supported by the on-time arrival of raw materials and machine availability. -Support and ensure manufacturing compliance to the Quality management system, ensuring all appropriate records are maintained. -Identify and work to resolve areas of high scrap and or rework. -Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs. -Manage Safety Stock planning and level setting per budget. -Identification and Implementation lead on continuous improvement projects utilizing root cause analysis and Problem Follow-Up process, resolving production-related issues, bottlenecks and downtime. -Collaborate with other departments, Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, etc. -Motivates, supports, and guides manufacturing leadership and staff. -Manages the execution of the daily production schedule based on staffing, production plan, safety stock requirements, sales priorities, and manufacturing efficiencies. -Works with EHS to maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, promoting safety in everything we do. -Prepare and present production reports detailing plan vs actual and follow-up actions to management.

What You Bring

-Experience with and or certifications for Six Sigma, Lean and 5S -Strong leadership, teambuilding, decision-making and people management skills -Proficiency in reading and interpreting business reports, metrics and KPIs. -Five (5) + years of prior supervisory work experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required. Prior plastics processing experience is a plus. -Frequently Sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding -Requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. -Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office software, strong excel skills are required. -Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment while sitting at a desk and working. -Familiarity with industry standard equipment and processes with technical ability -Infor LN ERP and Power Bi proficiency a plus. -Must be an effective multi-tasker, highly organized individual -Demonstrated understanding of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, product planning -Required to wear Safety Glasses & Steel/Composite toe shoes while in Warehouse or Manufacturing Areas -Ability to develop and implement processes that drive continuous improvement. -Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. -Ability to work well independently and as part of cross-functional teams. -A bachelor’s degree in plastic, manufacturing, industrial, process or mechanical engineering or equivalent is required.
