Tasks
You will play a key role in shaping Hadron’s supply chain architecture—bridging technical requirements with commercial execution to ensure on-time, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of materials essential to reactor design, prototyping, and manufacturing. The Procurement Engineer will lead sourcing, qualification, and purchasing of technical components, materials, and services required for Hadron Energy’s micro modular reactor (MMR) program. This individual will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure suppliers meet rigorous technical, safety, and regulatory standards. -Maintain supplier documentation and records to meet NRC, DOE, and ASME/NQA-1 requirements -Contribute to procurement planning for large-scale manufacturing and future Gigafactory operations -Support development of the company’s approved supplier list (ASL) and long-term sourcing strategy for critical materials -Track procurement schedules and coordinate logistics for prototype and production activities -Ensure all purchasing activities align with company policies, export control requirements, and ethical standards -Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers while ensuring adherence to quality and compliance standards -Translate engineering specifications into detailed procurement requirements and RFQs (Requests for Quotation) -Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing issues related to quality, delivery, or technical compliance -Support vendor qualification and audit processes in coordination with Quality Assurance (QA) and Engineering teams -Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers for reactor components, subsystems, and materials -Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and standardize components where possible

What You Bring
This is a full-time on-site role for a Procurement Engineer, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The position is ideal for candidates with a background in engineering and supply chain who are passionate about building reliable, high-quality supply networks for advanced nuclear and clean energy systems. -Strong technical understanding of engineered systems, materials, and fabrication processes -5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain engineering, preferably in the energy, nuclear, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing sectors -Proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships and negotiate technical/commercial terms -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field -Knowledge of ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) -Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven startup environment -Familiarity with export control (10 CFR 810/110), DOE, and NRC regulatory environments is a plus -Experience with supplier qualification, quality standards (ASME/NQA-1), and technical documentation management
