The Role

Overview

Ensures worker welfare, facility management and grievance handling at project accommodations.

Tasks

-Maintain all accommodations records and ensure their proper filing -Coordinate the number of meals with food suppliers and ensure client hygiene requirements -Manage accommodations facilities and lead the service and security teams -Improve facilities and services like medical, drinking water, canteen, toilet, rest area, child care room, etc., and inform workers of their rights (wages, overtime rates, leaves, etc.) -Inspect accommodation buildings and amenities and report any maintenance issues to the logistics department -Establish effective communication between management and workers to quickly resolve any differences b -Communicate, partnering with management, to ensure workers are receiving the required employee services and benefits -Responsible for the overall well-being of the accommodation residents -Ensure any worker’s grievances are addressed and communicated to management -Submit daily and monthly reports to the HOC regarding the following: -Report accommodations safety issues (fire, hygiene, space, amenities) to the HSE team -Lead client inspections ensuring all requirements are met -Manage and seek to resolve workers’ grievances and issues at the accommodation -Receive and address workers’ issues at the accommodation site -Follow up accommodation welfare inspections ensuring all issues are resolved -Follow up on maintenance requests ensuring all issues are addressed and resolved properly

What You Bring

-Experience working in the construction industry in Qatar is preferred -Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities -Willingness to work in various project sites across Doha, Qatar -Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are highly desirable -Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field -Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels -Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in welfare management, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects -Familiarity with health and safety standards in construction environments -Proficiency in using computer applications for report writing and data management -In-depth knowledge of Qatar's labor laws and welfare regulations -Understanding of road operations and maintenance processes -Strong organizational and time management skills -Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
