Tasks
-Acting as a senior point of escalation for projects, providing resolution to issues and managing performance. -Managing and supporting project leads on the financial performance of projects. -Providing development opportunities for team members, supporting the growth plans of the wider sector. -You will work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. -You will champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage. -Setting up regular and clear lines of communication to address issues that may arise. -You will mentor, coach, and develop large teams with senior direct reports, demonstrating effective leadership to ensure excellence in delivery against plans, championing a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities. -Acting as a single point of contact for the business to provide expert and strategic advice for the end-to-end delivery of projects, including bids, feasibility studies and project delivery. -You will lead the delivery of cost management services to deliver key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing strategic development of plans. -Managing and developing the team skills to ensure objectives are met and clients are supported. -You will ensure that operations are fiscally and ethically viable, influencing the achievement of business objectives that align with business and legislative compliance obligations. -You will be accountable for managing, estimating, and cost planning including ownership of and presenting cost plans. -Being responsible for maintaining a strong pipeline and leading in the business development and supporting growth of the team and projects. -You will use your network to identify talent, lead recruitment, and manage the development, retention and mobility of people, and support our people to achieve their highest potential. -You will lead the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively. -Joining the Central & Northern Region, providing operational management to the delivery teams and input into the wider sector growth plans. -You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub. -Ensuring service delivery quality is maintained and correct team behaviours are promoted. -You will be a leading advocate of Mace's value of safety first, and be accountable for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards. -You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values. -Establishing and maintaining key relationships with project partners, designers, contractors and other key stakeholders. -Attending regular progress meetings with clients to review service delivery and manage issues and opportunities. -Providing day to day strategic direction and support to the region.

What You Bring
-Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on. -Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams. -Track record of business planning, business development and delivering work for public and private sector clients in the housing and regeneration sector. -Understanding of the intricacies of an integrated service offer covering cost, procurement, strategic advisory, project and programme management, PMO, sustainability and development management services in various contractual agreements in partner, consortia and direct contracts. -Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. -Relevant degree qualification (chartered or a similar level of professional qualification will be viewed favourably) and have transferable skills. -You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead multi-disciplinary teams. -Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. Strong commercial and financial acumen. -Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. -Construction consultancy background in either cost management or project management and be keen to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer. -Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent). -You will possess advanced technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
