The Role

Overview

Oversee operations, safety, finance, and growth of an integrated aggregates and construction firm.

Tasks

-Imbuing the operating company with strong external sales and leveraging-our-portfolio orientation. -Conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and all other company or government rules and regulations. -Lead team in personal performance management, training and development, succession planning and effective recruiting, selection, hiring, training and retaining. -Providing customers with exceptional value (combination of quality, service, and price as defined by the customer). -Develop and achieve annual operating budgets. -Develop and execute capital expenditure plans. -Embracing and sustaining commercial performance system. -Drive commercial and operational performance improvements to meet or exceed company goals. -Provide vision, leadership, and ensure there is the appropriate support structure for employees to effectively execute the businesses safety, growth and performance strategies. -Leading and sustaining a Zero Harm safety culture with absolute commitment to zero injuries and accidents. -Collaborate with peers and provide leadership and support for national, division and region performance committees and improvement initiatives. -Empowering and positively supporting employees by aligning responsibility and accountability. -Employees—to champion the safety, empowerment, and development of employees by: -Build effective teams and develop (direct reports) for future opportunities. -Ensure the company is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws concerning safety, environmental impact, health and welfare and accounting regulations. -Operating the company in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. -Develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives. -Owning and delivering financial budgets and targets. -Developing a leadership pipeline using talent management systems and ongoing coaching. -Successfully lead a vertically integrated business with aggregates, asphalt, construction and ready mix concrete.

What You Bring

-Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence precisely. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. -Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. -Demonstrated success in managing large groups of employees. -Demonstrate strong financial and safety performance. -BS Degree and or High School diploma with 15 or more years’ experience in the industry. -Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant. -Bachelors Degree and/or Masters Degree in applicable field preferred. -Ability to prepare annual budgets and work with and/or administer budget; ability to answer questions and present financial data to Regional President and others. -Experience in strategic planning and execution. -Will be exposed to dust, noise, heavy equipment, seasonal temperatures and live traffic during field visits. -Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback. -Ability to drive long distances as needed to visit projects, plants or material sites -Understanding market and optimizing volumes, pricing, and market share.
