Glazing Estimator

Tasks

- Visit job sites and perform Estimating Site Reviews and Site Safety Evaluations - Attend pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates as required - Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers including client appreciation outings - Participate in initial handoff meetings - Maintaining a directory of product suppliers - Attend autopsies on completed projects - Consult, communicate and build rapport with internal departments and clients - Analyze & comprehend project plans, specs, & details - Act as tender lead on single-scope and/or multi-scope projects - Follow up on single-scope and/or multi-scope projects - Write up work orders - Review contracts and quotes for accuracy - Consult and communicate with project managers, architects, engineers and clients involved at all levels of a project - Stay informed of all new materials and techniques by attending material manufacturer’s trade shows, seminars, etc. - Prepare take-offs/estimated for single scope and multi-scope projects inclusive of materials, labour and equipment

What You Bring

- 2-3 years work experience in a Glazing Estimating position (commercial type projects). Glazing Estimator - Effective interpersonal skills - Experienced in using computer programs specific to this role (MS office package & BlueBeam) - Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities - Architectural Technology Diploma, Construction Engineering Technologies Diploma, Estimating Certificate, education in a related field or equivalent work experience - Ability to work in a fast pace, team environment Building Envelope, Construction, Glazing - Strong negotiation and communication skills - Strong blueprint reading skills - Ability to multitask “Fast paced, excitement of pursuit, rewarding, being part of amazing projects, visiting worksites, overall culture, endless opportunities, having the feeling of some autonomy” - Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
