Tasks

-Providing technical contribution to proposals and/or pursuits. -Preparing detailed documentation and specification requirements for Electrical components to support procurement and delivery of allocated projects. -Producing high-quality technical documentation, that presents complex information and results effectively, to technical and non-technical clients. -Design of electrical schematics including single line diagrams, starter schematics, PLC drawings, loop diagrams, interconnecting diagrams, General Arrangement, terminal block diagrams -Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP service to clients. Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline. -Provide technical guidance in design optimization, value engineering, design innovation, automation and digital technologies -Developing scope of work, conceptual design, and execution plans. -Contribute to knowledge sharing in internal and external forums. -Coordinating his/her work with other members of the Team. -Ensuring that quality procedures are implemented and maintained. -Electrical system modelling including grounding, load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash analysis Protective relay setting development, calculation, and coordination studies. -Support the company’s approach to sustainability. -Remain up to date with market and competitor knowledge. -Communicate with internal peers and project team and required to answer questions regarding deliverables. -Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies. -Developing equipment specifications, procuring, reviewing vendor drawings and assisting in factory acceptance testing electrical equipment. -Actively participate in the design and provide input to the design team throughout the design process. -Assisting with the preparation of technical reports on medium to large projects (design reports, condition assessment report) -Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to Lead Engineer or project manager in Australian lead offices. -Maintain strong colleague relationships and contribute to the teams’ performance of client satisfaction.

What You Bring

-Reporting progress of work assignment to immediate supervisor. Understands the project schedule and budget requirements. -Adaptability & Learning -Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required. -10+ years of experience in Electrical engineering. -Minimum of a bachelor’s degree & preferred master’s degree in electrical engineering. -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. -Sound knowledge of IEEE, IEC and Preferred Knowledge of AU codes and standards. -Electrical Engineering Experience in basic and detail design and engineering experience in developing of electrical layout, electrical equipment sizing, cable sizing, voltage drop calculation, short circuit calculation, earthing calculation, lighting calculation, design basis report, technical specification, technical bid analysis, preparation of BOQ, cost estimate, review vendor drawing and document review including quality plan etc. -communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team. -Having a thirst for knowledge, cultural awareness, an open mind, and good English -P. ENG qualification would be an added Advantage. -Preferred, Member of a professional body like CIWEM, ICE etc.; Chartered or equivalent -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English. -Strong organizational, technical and communication skills. -Strong attention to the detail. -You will also be computer literate with a reasonable proficiency in MS office suite and Navisworks. -Experience in design of LV and ELV electrical system, PLC/telemetry, and Instrumentation and Control design and design of electrical system in hazardous and non-hazardous area as per statutory norms, design of electrical outdoor switchyard and substation etc. -Ability to work well as part of a team or on an individual basis. -Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India. -Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 10+ year of experience in a consulting firm in an EPC environment in the Water treatment and Waste Water treatment and networks is an asset. -Must complete a high-quality self-check of own work with efficiency. Shall follow internal QC processes. -Candidate should have experience in design and engineering consultancy on industrial design projects like Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, O & G, Power Plant, Metal & mining sector etc. -Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. -Be able to communicate in a multi-disciplinary project team. -Work competently with minimal supervision or on an individual basis. -Strong preference will be given to candidates with Australian experience.
