Civil Engineer – Land Development

Overview

Design residential/commercial/industrial land development projects using Civil 3D.

Tasks

This position will collaborate with team members to design residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Technical tasks include but not limited to conceptual site layout, utility design; roadway design; site grading design; storm drain design; storm water management design; water and sanitary sewer main design; soil erosion and sedimentation control design; floodplain studies; permitting and entitlement support; and construction support (2026 start). -Assists project managers as requested. -Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. -Attends client and public meetings- days or evenings. -Prepares permit applications for applicable municipal agencies. -Designs site plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D. -Prepares conceptual grading analyses and site layout. -Prepares and computes, but not limited to due diligence/site analysis reports, engineer opinion of probable costs, utility computations, detention/retention computations, storm water reports, earthwork analysis. -Participates in business development efforts as requested. -Assists in production of final construction drawings. -Assists with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.

-Adaptable and able to respond quickly and accurately under pressure. -Available to work nights and weekends to complete projects as necessary. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may frequently lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. -Outstanding Interpersonal skills, ability to interact with a variety of people. -Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. 0-2 years related experience. -Proficient in MS office. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus. -Must have a valid drivers license. -Must be fluent in the English language.
