Manage and deliver capital engineering projects in a chemical plant environment.

Tasks
-Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems with a steering committee. -Reviews equipment design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related codes and specifications. -Coordinates and oversees specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing. -Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. -Responsible for coordinating the updating of site technical drawings to keep PSI accurate. -Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly. -Facilitates continuous improvement of the capital engineering processes within the organization. -Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met. -Develops a timeline and cost estimate for the assigned engineering project. -Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers. -Writes Capital Expenditure Requests describing the projects and costs to support the authorization process. -Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. -Directs integration of new construction with existing operations activities. -Facilitates the creation of project scope documents, project deliverables, and bid packages designed to provide the desired new asset.

What You Bring
We’re looking for a highly motivated, experienced Capital Projects Engineer to join our production team! -Ability to travel to vendor locations and negotiate in the interest of the company. -7+ years of experience in capital project management, preferably in a chemical plant environment. -Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, NFPA, OSHA PSM, and DOT regulations and other applicable construction codes. -Must demonstrate leadership qualities and be able to work as a team member in a professional environment. -Proficient in standard computer programs such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc. -Familiarity with safe working practices and contractor management. -Degree in engineering discipline. -Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables. -Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization.
