Supervises pipefitting crew, ensures safety, reads permits & drawings, manages tasks.

Tasks

-Trains and assists workers in performance of their duties. -Resolves any work-related problems. -Confers with supervisor if permit information is questionable and appropriate measures are taken to handle the situation. -Reads and interprets company policy to workers and enforces safety regulations. -Assigns duties, lines up and follows all work being performed. -Assesses need for equipment and is responsible for obtaining that equipment from the appropriate personnel -Drives company truck to transport workers to and from work site. -Conducts “tool box” safety meetings for workers. -Responsible for completion of and review of appropriate paperwork i.e., sign in/sign out sheets, valve lists, MSDS, time sheets, etc.

What You Bring

-Obtains work permit from appropriate source, reads it and performs a “job walk” to make sure working environment is safe and conditions are as outlined by the permit. -Prior foreman/crew leader experience. -High School or GED preferred but not required. -Advanced rigging and material handling skills a plus. -Current, undamaged TWIC card (in hand) required. -Must meet minimum qualifications per PALA's Driving Policy. -Trade School program preferred but not required. -Valid Driver License required. -NCCER Pipefitting Certification strongly desired. -Minimum four (4) years’ experience in piping.
