The Role
Overview
Coordinate and manage transportation of equipment/materials, including dispatch, contracts, and logistics.

Tasks
-Manage resulting agreements for price, compliance, and other factors. -Resolve service issues. -Prepare and issue bid solicitations. -Reviews and handles freight bills. -Analyzes & evaluates responses for price, performance, capability, scheduling, compliance with order terms, and consistency with sourcing strategy. -Prepare and negotiate tariff agreements. Analyzes transportation practices and procedures. -Reviews and processes routine claims for lost or damaged materials. -Negotiate best value contracts with providers. -Communicates with field and project personnel to evaluate provider performance. -Assists field personnel in expediting or locating materials in transit. -May solicit proposals, evaluate responses, negotiate, and/or administer routine service contracts. -Obtain approvals, and highway hauling permits, for excessive dimension or overweight equipment and materials. -Develop and implement programs and processes for improved freight services and service processing. -Arrange and coordinate transportation and shipping services for equipment and materials. Identifies potential transportation service providers. -Assists with shipping requirements and issues. -Prepare reports, and recommends alternative solutions. -Communicate with field and project personnel, to evaluate compliance with purchase contracts. -Identify potential transportation providers. -Dispatching drivers and material loads and providing efficient delivery routes across Dominion Energy's service territory. -Arrange and coordinate transportation and shipping services for equipment and materials. -Identify and implement cost improvements for transportation services.

What You Bring
-Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. -Ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to customer needs. -Effective influencing, persuasion, and negotiation skills. -General knowledge material and service delivery fulfillment process. -Experience with SAP, preferred. -Ability to use sound business judgment. -General knowledge of business and contract law. -Knowledge of MRP, ERP, and purchasing logistics systems and processes. -General knowledge of procurement practices, procedures, and policies. -Effective influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills. -Value, cost analysis, and general analytical skills. -Previous dispatch experience is preferred but not required. -Basic knowledge of freight claim law procedures. -Forecasting and trend analysis skills. -Ability to multi-task. -Ability to communicate to all levels (individual contributors to management). -Hazmat DOT knowledge. -Project management skills. -Previous dispatch experience is required. -General knowledge of business and transportation contracts. -Good verbal, written and presentation communication skills. -Strong verbal and written communication skills.
