Tasks

-PROVIDE: Utilize expertise in fire protection systems design to complete a successful installation, providing a quality product that pleases the client -PREPARE: Produce fire sprinkler design drawings that maximize efficiency, meet code compliance and industry standards and specifications; hydraulic calculations to determine pipe sizes -MENTOR: Support less-senior designers’ skills development in Fire Protection design -COORDINATE: Coordinate pipe and sprinkler locations with building components and other trades -You want to expand your skillsets, sharpen your expertise, and work with the best in the industry -TECHNOLOGY: Work with the latest computer design programs and modeling tools -KEEP TO CODE: Accurately and thoroughly prepare code compliant fire protection system designs within stipulated timeframes for large, complex projects

We have an exciting opportunity in the Northbrook or Downtown Chicago area for an experienced Fire Protection Systems Designer. As our company continues to expand, we want you to grow and develop with us! Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for positions that require participation in the company’s fleet program. This is a requirement for roles involving the operation of company vehicles. -ANALYTICAL: Critical thinker with mathematical aptitude; strong attention to detail; good working knowledge of hydraulic calculations; ability to read and understand construction blueprints -KNOWLEDGEABLE: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree; or equivalent relevant experience; NICET certification -FLEXIBILE: Available as needed; able to travel to client sites when necessary -EXPERIENCED: An expert in Fire Protection Systems design and using Fire Protection design software; thorough knowledge of NFPA standards and other applicable federal, state, and local codes -You look to encounter and conquer new and complex challenges in Fire Protection design -ADAPTABLE: Quickly adjusts to a changing environment; successfully manages priorities under time constraints
