Tasks
-Manage project workers compensation claims including the establishment and monitoring of jobsite clinics. -Manage project safety training and provide educational materials designed to develop and maintain the safety culture and an effective safety and health program. -Work with project teams to develop trade partner safety cultures. Engage in safety culture charrettes and CARES committees. -Effectively communicate with various stakeholders including project owners, insurance carrier, Hensel Phelps leadership, staff, craft and trade partners. -Develop safety professionals through training and mentorship. Actively recruit at designated colleges for safety professionals. Assist director of safety and health in evaluations and goal settings for safety engineers, safety managers and senior safety managers. -The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity. -Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer. -Assist project team with safety start-up, program development, implementation, and management. Assist projects with pre-job planning, start-up and identification and control of high-risk activities. -Facilitate discussions with project owner representatives for safety related items. -Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements. -Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist. -Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas. -Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights.

What You Bring
-Strong communication skills (verbal and written). -Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate. -Verification of Work Authorization and Employment Eligibility -6 years of experience in safety on commercial construction projects. -Background Checks for Badging/Security Clearances (if applicable) -Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Safety Management Specialist (SMS) designation preferred. -A 4-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field of study or equivalent work experience. -Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera and Autodesk Suite. -Walking - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc. -Thoroughly familiar with project safety specifications and support project teams in effective implementation. -Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch. -Frequently exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. -Physical Exam (if applicable) -Valid Driver’s License.
