Tasks

-Manage day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients while utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations. -Multi-discipline engineering services plus corrosion control, commissioning and project/construction management -Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution. -Analyze existing fire protection systems; design new fire protection systems including water-based suppression systems, special suppression systems, fire alarm and mass notification systems. -Assess and interpret building and fire codes. -Attend and participate in local and national professional organizations, such as SFPE.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel -Have an “area of expertise” within fire protection engineering -Associates degree (A.S.) from accredited college or university in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Sciences, or related engineering field preferred. Other higher education degree or certifications also considered. -Experience performing building and fire code analysis and code interpretations -Possess project management skills for managing internal projects as well as external client needs -NICET level III / IV, or ability to obtain a NICET III/IV certification. -Strong written and verbal communication skills. -Proficiency with Bluebeam, and AutoCAD and Revit -Minimum 15 years of experience in the fire protection engineering/consulting profession. -Proficiency in managing CAD / REVIT production efforts. -Experience with managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations -Experience coordinating with a multi-discipline design team -Ability to Lead and train others including internal and external clients -Utilize project management skills for managing internal projects as well as external client. -Experience with the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance requirements of fire suppression systems -Utilize computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, simple graphics, fire suppression design software, and a working knowledge of computer aided drafting. -Experience designing fire protection systems including suppression systems, special suppression systems, fire pumps and performing analysis of existing fire protection systems -Proficiency in AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD, or similar fire sprinkler design software -Practical knowledge of major fire sprinkler and fire pump manufacturer’s current product offerings and legacy products. -45 years in business
