The Role

Tasks

-Provide technical direction for electrical and interconnection systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability. -Participate in tours, briefings, and technical exchanges at FORCE's interconnection facility. -Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and designs to ensure technical and regulatory alignment. -Serve as the primary point of contact for Nova Scotia Power Inc. (NSPI) on all interconnection, metering, and compliance activities. -Develop and track annual budgets, monitor expenditures, and maintain full financial accountability for project-related programs. -Lead the planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and execution of the OSIP project. -Support engagement with technology developers, government, regulators, and industry groups. -Oversee contractors and project partners, managing performance, scope, and quality of work. -Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for stakeholders and the Board of Directors. -Provide technical input for public communication, education, and engagement activities. -Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and vendors to deliver projects on time and on budget. -Support internal planning and reporting processes to align project outcomes with FORCE's strategic priorities. -Act as the primary liaison with the project funder (NRCan), preparing reports, updates, and financial claims.

What You Bring

-Skilled at translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. -Familiarity with marine energy, subsea systems, or infrastructure projects is considered an asset. -P.Eng. in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline). -Strong technical documentation and communication skills. -PMP® or equivalent project management certification desired. -Fieldwork and site visits in marine and electrical environments are required. -Collaborative, adaptable, and composed under changing conditions. -Accountable and self-directed; delivers results with integrity and precision. -Proficiency in project management tools, CAD, and electrical design software. -Analytical thinker with sound engineering judgment. -Experience with substation systems, switchgear, transformers, and metering equipment preferred. -Minimum five years of progressive experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects. -Strong knowledge of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, grid interconnection, and power distribution. -Understanding of SCADA, data acquisition, and real-time monitoring systems a benefit.
