The Role

Overview

Investigate building enclosure failures, perform testing, and advise clients as a forensic consultant.

Tasks

-Development of drawings/specifications and performance of construction administration services. -Analyzation of façade performance with specialized software (i.e. loading, thermal analysis, condensation risk, geometry). -Serving as an expert witness, or supporting colleagues in this role, in various capacities, including depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. -Damage assessment and cause and origin investigations. -Field testing of various materials and assemblies, including performance testing of curtainwall and facade assemblies. -Management of building enclosure consulting projects from conception to completion, including correspondence with clients and other interested parties. -Interpretation and research of building codes and industry standards (ASTM, AAMA, etc.). -Build and develop client relationships to contribute to the growth of the Forensics practice, both technically and geographically. -On-site survey, investigation, and documentation of existing conditions, including facade assessments via suspended scaffold or industrial rope access.

What You Bring

-Interest and ability to develop client relationships and build a book of business. -Professional Engineer or Registered Architect. -Roof and façade investigation/assessment/testing experience for large-scale projects preferred. -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture. -Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally. -8-12+ years of relevant experience.
