Develops competitive bids, estimates costs, and supports preconstruction for commercial projects.

Tasks
The estimator is responsible for all preconstruction activities on assigned projects working in collaboration with clients, the project manager, and others to ensure a successful preconstruction process. -Utilize understanding of construction means, methods, and current relevant cost history data to perform quantity take-offs. -Prepare project bids & project budgets. -Work with subcontractors and suppliers to calculate project costs. -Evaluate and estimate construction project costs for all project scopes, systems, and assembly. -Preparing project bids and budgets and assembling change orders. -Develop responses to RFPs. -Responsible for the development of competitive bids on assigned projects reviewing specifications & drawings. -Create preconstruction and construction schedules in collaboration with the project team. -Support business development and present proposals. -Review specifications, drawings, and all other construction documentation for completeness of information, construction-related issues, and potential risks.

Background check and drug screen required. -A demonstrated steady work record -Excellent written & verbal communication skills -MUST HAVE: Established relationships with local trade contractors and a broad professional network within the Treasure Valley (Boise Metropolitan Area). -Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and industry best practices. -MUST HAVE: 3+ years of RECENT experience Estimating Commercial Construction projects valued at $5M - $50M. -Prolonged periods standing, and or sitting. -MUST HAVE: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field required. -Strong organizational, planning & time management skills -Excellent written & verbal communication skills. -Strong expertise using Bluebeam, MS Excel, and/or other estimating software. -Ability to lift up to 30 pounds by self in safe manner. -Cloud-based construction management software experience is a plus. -Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines -Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills. -Proficiency in design-build, negotiated, and competitive bid projects. -Must have a valid driver’s license.
