Geotechnical Driller Assistant

Overview

Assist driller with soil/rock drilling, sample handling, equipment prep and site cleanup.

Tasks

-Retrieves and log samples -Assists with the location of boring locations -Prepares tooling and supplies for the day’s tasks -Assembles and disassembles augers -Assists Driller to load and unload augers -Performs general site clean-up -Cleans and maintains equipment

Requirements

What You Bring

-Ability to receive work instructions and follow tasks in a safe manner -Ability to climb occasionally -Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold) -CDL preferred -Must be able to work off shifts and overtime -Requires basic math skills -Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time -Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance -Experience performing geotechnical drilling is preferred -Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound -Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required) -HS Education or Equivalent preferred -Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication -Ability to kneel and squat occasionally -Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
