Tasks

-Researches new regulations and developments in the field of Health and Safety and recommends changes in the company’s program -Attends all initial meetings with the Project Staff and Subcontractor Representatives to clearly define their role within the confines of the Project Program -Manages the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures -Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site visits, safety plans, and education of all supervisory personnel -Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines -Acts as advisor to the safety administration team regarding projects, tasks, operation, and accidents -Supervises training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations -Conducts onsite safety inspections, safety orientations, and accident investigations

What You Bring

-Understanding of OSHA and other regulatory agency standards -Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff -Electrical experience preferred -BCSP Certification preferred -Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals -Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills -Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedure within the construction field -Willing and able to visit a construction site at some time during employment -Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and employees -Minimum of five years of experience in general construction with an emphasis on construction and/or industrial safety -An understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations -Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel), email, and internet navigation software
