Co-op Lab Technician

Overview

Assist lab operations, conduct tests, support projects, ensure safety and quality.

Tasks

-Follow all laboratory health and safety protocols and best practices and guidelines. -Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures. -Accurately record and report test results in a timely manner. -Support senior technicians and scientists in ongoing projects. -Coordinate work to maintain efficiency and ensure timely completion of laboratory tasks. -Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and relevant standards. -Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions for analysis according to standard procedures. -Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities. -Perform any reasonable tasks and contribute to projects as directed by the manager to support laboratory operations. -Receive samples, record them in the database, and ensure timely shipment to the relevant plant after assessments -Coordinate with other technicians to complete tasks according to the planned schedule.

-Demonstrates problem-solving and analytical abilities in routine tasks. -Senior student in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or related field. -Ability to occasionally lift materials up to 25 lbs. -Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively and efficiently with the team. -Detail oriented and maintains organizational skills to support team tasks.
