Tasks
-Follow awarded contracts as assigned – may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, and other activities as needed. -Use logical procedures in completing work -Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates -Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information -Follow awarded contracts which include estimating extra work charges, change orders, credits, procuring materials, etc. -Carry out and support the company’s core values of Exceptional Work Ethic, Always Doing the Right Thing, Customer Service Driven, and Treating Our People Like Family. -Preparing estimates by calculating the complete takeoff based on the scope of work -Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of the scope of work. -Maintaining high levels of communication with all parties involved in projects -Seeking information from a variety of sources, in a variety of ways, to clarify situations and facilitate effective planning, decision-making and problem solving -Review proposal specifications and drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate. -Interface with owners, general contractors, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility. -Coordinate the total estimate relevant to the assigned project. -May require on-site presence to carry out duties and collaborate with the team. -Fostering teamwork to make the dream work! -Maintain knowledge of competitive advantage in the industry to aid bid process -Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, and other sources into unit and manhour figures. -Reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimate -Developing and implementing logical approaches to problems -May review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or material availability. -Maintain files of working documents as a backup for estimate figures.

What You Bring
-Strong communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills -Demonstrating keen attention to detail -Strong knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control with the ability to interpret cost data and systems -Ability to deal effectively with people beyond giving and receiving instructions -Proficiency using Accubid or similar estimating software -Understand ideas and present information clearly -Be orderly and systematic in work -2-4 years of estimating, controls, and/or electrical engineering experience in commercial construction -Educational and experience requirements include a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of electrical technical training and/or experience -Ability to work under supervision and independently -Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite
