The Role

Overview

Lead design and manage bridge projects across CT and NE region.

Tasks

-Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans. -Load evaluation of existing bridges. -Provides specialized technical input on transportation related projects. -Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings -Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges. -Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements -Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables -Manages bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff. -Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects -Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges utilizing pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components. -Prepares technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.

What You Bring

-Project experience with CTDOT, MassDOT and/or other State DOT’s is desired -Experience with CSi, Midas, AASHTO Ware, Bentley Suite -Railroad bridge experience is a plus -Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering -Professional Engineer (PE) license and be willing to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects. -Experience using MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenBridge, and/or other similar computer software -Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -Six (6) years of relevant experience is preferred -Relevant experience working on 'mega' projects that are at/near a billion dollars
