Overview

Manage cost, contracts and commercial aspects for water/environment projects.

Tasks

-Production of the Application for Payment including a critical review of time billed, recoverable activities with appropriate commentary -Contract and procurement advice, cost analysis, due diligence, cost control, cost reporting activities and post contract management on projects, programmes and D & B contracts -Provide input and recommendations for cost engineering requirements and actively promote and implement Value engineering and value for money -Prepare and report cost engineering information & reports on a monthly basis and additional ad-hoc reports as required by Management e.g. Cashflow, Actuals, Variance reporting -Support and advise the project manager in respect of fulfilment of all contractual obligations -NEC contract management, review early warning and compensation event notifications, assessment of compensation events, review and agreement of defined cost including targeted auditing where required and final account/contract closure

What You Bring

-Experience in the water, environment and regulated industries -Previous experience of administrating a wide range of contracts, particularly NEC contracts and experience in using CEMAR (Contract Event Management and Reporting) or similar -Quantity Surveying degree or relevant extensive experience in experience of delivering within a Cost Consultancy/Main Contractor -Willing to travel to client site 2 or 3 days per week -Preferred experience in using electronic measurement systems and other cost and contract management tools -Building and managing strong client and stakeholder relationship skills -Excellent IT skills, oral and written communication, organisation skills and good analytical thinking. -Ability to operate both autonomously and as a part of a larger multi-disciplinary team providing commercial support -Ideally Chartered QS MRICS or working towards chartered status (MRICS) and a commitment to CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
