Quality Field Technician 1

Overview

Perform QA/QC testing of soils, concrete, and geotechnical materials on field projects.

Tasks

-Collaborate with engineers, foremen, contractors, and project managers across multiple sites -Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot testing equipment for field accuracy -Champion safety and environmental compliance with discipline and consistency -Assist inspections, generate nonconformance reports, and support root cause investigations -Monitor and document construction activities for QA/QC compliance—spotting and escalating issues in real time -Create detailed daily logs, test summaries, and audit-ready documentation -Perform field and lab testing of soil, concrete, grout, soil nails, micropiles, strand anchors, and more using ASTM, AASHTO, and GSI standards

What You Bring

-Full PPE and safety-first mindset required -Strong documentation and organizational skills under field conditions -Lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods -Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO procedures and QA/QC systems -High school diploma or GED required (technical training or associate degree preferred) -Minimum 2 years in construction materials testing, geotechnical fieldwork, or QA/QC in a construction environment -Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 90% -ACI certification or equivalent strongly preferred (NICET, WAQTC, ICC a plus) -Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and cloud-based reporting systems -Fieldwork in varied weather conditions and remote environments
