The Role
Overview
Manage large bridge, highway and rail construction projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Tasks
-Participate in business development activities as required for existing and potential new clients, to include general marketing, client meetings, and proposal development -Review project proposal and scope of work to determine schedule, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, assisting in contract negotiations, as required -Interface with Key stakeholders, as needed -Implement and maintain document control management systems -Make sure projects adhere to all government and industry standards and guidelines -Supervise construction staff and ensure they’re properly trained and certified for job requirements and use of all equipment -May have to work non-standard hours, including some nights and weekends on occasion. -Develop and maintain client relations to ensure satisfaction -Interact with other consulting firms -Work with lead inspectors in scheduling the inspection resources -Prepare and implement construction management QA/QC Plans -Support design teams with constructability reviews of plans under development -Gather/disseminate information and intelligence regarding potential upcoming pursuits

What You Bring
-Demonstrated proficiency in project safety, scheduling (CPM scheduling, Primavera, Microsoft Project), staffing, cost estimating, risk management, quality management, and project/document controls -Commitment to and confirmed track record of safely delivering projects on time, under budget, and of the utmost quality -Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook -Construction observation experience with industry standards -It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability. -Aptitude for communicating with owner/client staff, contractors, and subconsultants (Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential) -Ability to plan, organize, assign, lead, motivate and evaluate various levels and numbers of staff -10+ years of construction management or construction oversight -Established relationships with state agencies a plus -Possession of a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential is preferred but not required -4-year college degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management or a related field -VDOT experience in the Richmond/Hampton Roads area -Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments -Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license in VA is preferred but not required -Familiarity with Federal and State Specifications for construction
