Tasks

-Real-world impact: Build and maintain the automation systems powering data centers that serve billions of users. -Perform instrument loop checks, calibrations, and low-voltage wiring; install and verify control panels and field instruments. -Diagnose and repair PLC, HMI, and network communication issues; debug programs and support system optimization during start-up. -Read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and schematics while ensuring adherence to Thermo’s Quality Management System (QMS) and project standards. -Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, general contractors, and vendors; proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and manage scope changes. -Drive Financial Strength: Deliver quality efficiently and seek improvement. -Lead on-site project installation, start-up, and commissioning activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and documentation. -Drive Customer Success: Take ownership and go the extra mile. -Accurately document work, maintain clear communication, and uphold quality and safety standards on all projects.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a Lead Control System Technician I to play a key role in one of the most advanced data-center programs in the world. You’ll oversee on-site installation, startup, and commissioning of full life-cycle control systems, mentor technicians, and interface directly with clients, engineers, and vendors. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in the field, loves problem-solving, and wants to grow into LCST II or engineering leadership. Location: Onsite in Montgomery, AL (Up to 20% Travel) -Core Skills: PLC & HMI troubleshooting, low-voltage wiring, instrumentation, and basic networking. -Soft Skills: Clear communicator, proactive problem solver, and team-oriented leader. -Other: Valid driver’s license, U.S. work authorization, and fit-for-duty certification. -Certifications: ISA, AVEVA, or Ignition (or willingness to earn). -Experience: 2–5+ years in control-system installation/start-up, with 2+ years leading technicians. -Education: A.A.S. in Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics, or equivalent experience.
