Description

Responsibilities include leading complex design packages, ensuring “Safe by Design” principles, driving digital transformation, and promoting quality and technical governance. The candidate will contribute to business strategy through research and innovation, mentor teams, and support knowledge management initiatives, while maintaining commercial awareness and client engagement. This is an opportunity to influence multidisciplinary projects, develop technical capability within the team, and progress toward senior technical authority roles.

• Promotes the importance of quality within their business.
• Undertakes specialist/complex packages of work and function as a Discipline Technical Reviewer on Medium technical risk projects within their own discipline.
• Acts as a Technical reviewer/signatory on low/medium-risk projects and bids.
• Clearly marshals and delivers thoughts on paper, provides clear and detailed documents.
• Adheres to Safety requirements, identifies hazards, asks questions when in doubt and recommends solutions to manage them.
• Builds trust and reputation with clients through personal contribution to excellence.
• Backs up verbal and written arguments with data and facts, provides solutions and recommendations.
• Produces innovative solutions.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships across the business.
• Supports change and new initiatives.
• Contributes to and researches the development of existing and new areas of technology/capabilities to inform business strategy.

Requirements

• Able to take over a technical lead role, with a growing reputation internally and externally within their field.
• Able to provide leadership on “Safe by Design” on projects and review our approach to hierarchical risk elimination, mitigation and controls.
• Able to present their technical work and that of their colleagues in their field to clients.
• Familiar with the commercial governance, systems and project management governance.
• Relevant professional qualifications or demonstrate good progress towards these e.g. CEng, RIBA, CEnv, P.Eng, P.E, APM etc.
• Able to communicate complex concepts in clear language.
• Can take on Subject Matter Expert role within discipline, growing towards a Professional Head of Discipline or Technical Authority role.
• Cautious while handling confidences and confidential information; does not release the same, until business dictates.
• Demonstrates professional behaviors. Understands the impact of their behavior and appropriateness of responses.
