  • Integrate customer schedules with internal schedules and provide timely feedback to project stakeholders on impacts to critical project tasks, such as fabrication delivery dates, VDC design dates, resource loading requirements, procurement conflicts, milestone/deliverable risks, and all other project specific critical tasks.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of concepts, techniques, and procedures.
  • Coordinates own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities under established procedures.
  • Develop and keep production status of the schedule activities and critical milestones to align with RK production tracking efforts and site-specific customer requirements.
  • Contributes to a team under general supervision of an experienced professional or manager.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.
  • As needed, provide documentation to support internal project reviews and risk analysis.
  • Assist the project team in creating and assessing potential acceleration and or delay mitigation strategies due to design changes or schedule slippages.
  • Meet with project and production teams weekly to discuss and document progress.
  • Review / analyze assigned project schedules at regular intervals to ensure that all changes, delays, progress, etc. are reflected properly.
  • Develop resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects.
  • Review / analyze customer baseline schedule and any updated schedules for integrity as well as to determine potential risks or impacts to internal schedules and/or accounting that need to be mitigated.
  • Provide schedule resource/production reports to field managers on a weekly cadence to support field labor forecasting efforts (ie. Rivet Workforce Management or other labor forecast tools).

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficient user of scheduling software, such as Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, etc.
  • Requires independent judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling, Takt Planning, and Last Planner System scheduling theory, level of detail, and execution.
  • Awards: Whether in Construction, Manufacturing, Fabrication, or Service, RK Industries is highly recognized and accredited throughout the industry: Accreditations & Recognition
  • Proven specialist expertise, typically 5+ years of experience. Preferred 2+ years of experience in a scheduling or project controls role.
  • Ability to understand the sequence and precursor activities to MEP work a plus.
  • Be able to work closely with personnel to help improve their planning and scheduling skills.
  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and knowledge within his/her function.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior staff in preparing and maintaining P6 schedules
  • Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented complexities.
  • Expert knowledge of construction specifications, contract documents, building materials, methods and procedures, and the ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts and proposal documents.
