Tasks

-Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews for critical network events. -Monitor network performance and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues to maintain optimal uptime. -Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable network infrastructure to support residential and small business FTTH services. -Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures. -Support training and development of junior engineers and technicians. -Maintain complete and accurate technical documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures. -Develop and deploy configurations for routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and other core network equipment. -Evaluate and integrate new technologies and architectures that enhance network performance and cost efficiency. -Collaborate with OSP, Field Operations, and NOC teams to ensure network readiness, capacity planning, and efficient service delivery. -Identify opportunities for improvement in network design, automation, and operational processes. -Recommend and test new tools or methodologies to enhance network observability and performance. -Serve as a technical mentor and subject matter expert for the network engineering and NOC teams. -Contribute to strategic initiatives that enable network scalability, cost efficiency, and enhanced customer experience. -Provide input into strategic network planning and assist leadership with long-term technology roadmaps. -Oversee automation efforts to streamline network management and improve response times. -Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards related to data integrity and network security. -Partner with vendor representatives and consultants to manage escalations and optimize vendor support relationships. -Implement and enforce network security measures, including access control, authentication, and traffic segmentation.

What You Bring

-Must be authorized to work in the United States. -This position requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time, using a computer and other office equipment. -Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., LibreNMS network tools). -Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills. -This position requires the ability to perform fine motor tasks, such as typing or using a mouse, for extended period of time. -Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCDP or equivalent. -Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset. -5+ years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer, Network Administrator, or similar role in a service provider or broadband environment. -Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. -This is a staff position with mentorship requirements. -This role requires occasional travel up to 10% of the time for activities such as out-of-town meetings, training, or project activities. -Ability to pass a standard background check. -In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and other core routing and switching protocols. -Solid understanding of network security principles and access control frameworks. -Experience with network operating systems (e.g., JUNOS, Cisco IOS). -This position requires the ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
