The Role

Tasks

-Accurately navigate a tractor trailer using instructions, maps or GPS, to a wide variety of locations both on road and off. -Ensuring accuracy of pickup and delivery. -Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials at job sites as needed. -Perform and properly document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in a safe and legal condition. -Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports and hours worked. -Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the truck and trailer when necessary. -Documenting equipment pick up and deliveries. -Properly record hours worked using an ELD in compliance with Hours of Service regulations. -Load and secure heavy construction equipment and machinery onto the trailer for transport in accordance with State and Federal regulations. -Accurately measure load dimensions and weight to ensure compliance with OS/OW permit requirements and State and Federal regulations. -Always adhere to Emery Sapp & Sons safety policies and procedures. -Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate equipment transport and delivery schedules in a direct and friendly manner. -Safely operate a tractor trailer in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities.

What You Bring

-Strong communication and teamwork skills. -High school diploma or equivalent. -Minimum of 3 years of experience operating lowboy trailers and transporting heavy equipment preferred. -Ability to read, understand and navigate using paper and/or digital maps. -2 years of heavy haul experience. -Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed. -Valid Class A CDL with Tank endorsement. -7 to 8 Axels -Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and best practices for equipment transport. -Hazardous Materials endorsement on CDL preferred, but not required. -Basic mechanical skills for minor truck and trailer maintenance. -Valid DOT Med Cert with Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification. -Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. -Ability to sit for long periods of time. -Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a high degree of accuracy. -Ability to operate equipment during loading and unloading processes. -Properly wear and safely use PPE. -Extensive travel may be required. -Occasional heavy lifting.
