Overview

Tasks

-Perform preliminary calculations under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer. -Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member. -Field activities take place in a variety of weather conditions and can occur in remote locations and include areas of uneven terrain or occur during harsh weather. -Assist with report production and file management activities. -Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance. -Assist with field data collection, including water and soil sampling. -Collect and enter data for evaluation by senior project staff. -Perform research on topics relevant to a wide array of projects. -Conduct research for ongoing projects, including review of regulations and permits, work plans, or other documents.

What You Bring

-Candidate must have successfully completed at least two years of study towards a degree (Juniors, Seniors, and recent grads). -Candidate should be self-motivated and able to take directions. -Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with experience in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. -In addition to English, fluency in other languages will be considered a plus. -A strong drive to succeed and professional approach to work are required. -Knowledge of data collection and tabulation in preparation of scientific documents. -Must be able to manage time well and work on tasks as part of a larger project team. -Must have a strong health and safety ethic. -Candidate must be able to walk large project sites and must be physically able to carry up to 35 pounds of equipment (such as sampling tools, GPS unit, field screening equipment and cameras) during field work. -A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required. -Attention to detail is required. -Experience in GIS or AutoCAD software is beneficial. -Knowledge of Microsoft Access. -Completion of four courses in a relevant scientific discipline described above. -Ability to format and produce reports as well as the ability to maintain file management. -GPA of 3.1 or higher. -The successful candidate is able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal format and make evaluated decisions. -Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. -Candidate must be able to sit at a desk / computer in an office environment for office-based tasks. -Currently in pursuit, or recently obtained, a BS or MS in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, chemistry, or another scientific field). -The successful candidate will work as a problem solver, will have an interest and ability to work in a collaborative manner, and will have the flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
