Facade Senior Designer

Overview

Lead façade design from concept to delivery on international projects.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Requesting and reviewing building physics calculations (thermal assessments, solar analyses, condensation risk assessments and daylighting analyses etc). -Undertaking failure investigation studies and provide clear reports. -Working directly with our clients, architects, contractors and façade industry suppliers -Working on several projects running in parallel. -Undertaking site, factory & testing visits and writing clear concise reports. -Attending meetings and communicate with clients and design disciplines to establish their needs. -Developing excellent facade solutions and see these through from concept to implementation. It will include scrutinising detailed designs generated by specialist façade contractors. -Undertaking design yourself, you will use your knowledge and experience to support other team members. -Receiving support from our senior team members and providing support to the junior team members -Working with multi-disciplinary teams. -Spearheading projects and being responsible for the delivery of our scope of services including managing a project team from within and outside the facade group

What You Bring

-A minimum 8-10 years of relevant industry experience having in building, façade and sustainability design within a consulting business environment. -An ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments. -An in-depth technical and design skills related to building envelope design and detailing. -Experience in Life Cycle Assessment and Carbon calculation will be an added advantage. -A recognised relevant qualifications in Engineering or Architecture Degree or similar area. -Knowledge of Dynamo, Rhino Inside, Grasshopper, Unity and point cloud technology & plugins is beneficial. -An ability to maintain personal effectiveness particularly during periods of higher-than-normal workload -Planning and organizational skills. -An ability to develop and maintain successful client relationships.
