The Role

Overview

Design and manage structural projects, perform calculations, drawings, and construction admin.

Tasks

-Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients. -Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines for coordination of the project -Development of job specific specifications independently for less complex projects -Assist with development of design standards. -Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. -Independently perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders. -Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, Master’s degree preferred -Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codes -Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule. -Minimum of 5 years of related work and/or an equivalent combination of education and related experience -ASCE41 and retrofit experience is a plus along with nonlinear analysis -Federal project experience is a plus -Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite) -Good driving record and valid driver’s license required. -Understand industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods. -Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. -Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of Architects, Engineers, and Owner clients effectively. -Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards. -Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.) -Professional Engineering license is required, Structural Engineering license is preferred -Experience with navigating modeling software (Autodesk Revit) -DSA and/or HCAI experience is a plus -Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings.
