Tasks
The Bankruptcy Specialist is responsible for administering bankruptcy activities on behalf of NTTA, as well as serving as a liaison between NTTA, the customer, and/or the customer’s attorney or bankruptcy trustee. This is accomplished by collecting documentation in support of a case, filing claims on behalf of NTTA, reviewing information submitted by the customer, customer’s attorney, or trustee, and negotiating restitution. -Review legal materials and assist with daily administrative activities to prevent impermissible collection activities upon violator filing bankruptcy. -Responds to external inquiries received through other departments, responding to direct inquiries from violators, and trustees and works with outside attorneys, at the direction of the General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel. -Creates and compiles the training materials to assist with training of other departments on bankruptcy processes. -Attend in-person meetings, team/NTTA employee events, and to process bankruptcy mail, including checks. -Ensure system requirements are met to avoid possible lawsuits against NTTA due to non-compliance. -File proof of claims on all eligible accounts.

What You Bring
**Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the United States immediately. This position is not available for H1-B visa sponsorship. ** -Three to five years’ experience of bankruptcy experience or legal training or experience with NTTA’s back-office systems. -Associate’s degree. -In-house bankruptcy experience. -Maintains a working-knowledge of bankruptcy-related laws, policies and procedures to process and accurately classify bankruptcy status of debtors and claims.
