Tasks

-Gather market intelligence and client feedback to inform strategic planning, service offerings, and -Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients through direct outreach, meetings, and ongoing engagement. -Develop and execute client pursuit plans that align with company capabilities, growth objectives, and -Support contract negotiations, teaming agreements, and pricing strategy for key pursuits -Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities using the company’s CRM system and regularly -Work at outdoor sites including wetlands, forests, grasslands, construction zones, and undeveloped land. -Mentor and coach Account Executive staff or regional contributors as needed. -Lead strategic business development efforts across key markets, including environmental engineering, geotechnical services, construction support, and infrastructure consulting. -Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and professional organizations to -Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless handoff from pursuit to project delivery. -Lead or support pre-positioning efforts, including opportunity tracking, team-building, and proposal -Present and promote company products and engineering services, tailoring solutions to meet client needs throughout the sales cycle. -Work is performed at a desk for extended periods using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment in a climate-controlled office environment. -Collaborate with regional and technical leaders to develop account strategies and influence the development of tailored solutions for prospective clients -Travel on foot across uneven, rugged, or obstructed terrain, sometimes in areas inaccessible by vehicle.

What You Bring

-This position requires occasional travel, approximately 10% to 20% of the time, to support business -Experience with CRM platforms and business development reporting tools -Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills -Strong networking, communication, and negotiation skills. -Ability to travel regularly to client sites, industry events, and company offices across the region or country. -Proven track record of building client relationships and securing contracts with public agencies, private sector clients, or utility/infrastructure owners. -Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate lab and field equipment for extended periods. -Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent -10+ years of progressive business development experience, sales, or growth leadership roles, ideally within engineering, construction, or industrial services. -Ability to lift and carry between 35–75 lbs. of equipment or samples over distances up to 75 feet. -Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats in varied environments, often while wearing PPE. -Ability to use sensory capabilities to see (including close and distant vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus) and smell for observation and safety purposes -Regular in-person communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders is required. -Deep understanding of the sales cycle for professional services, including pre-positioning, capture planning, and proposal development -Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and balance as needed during both lab and fieldwork. -This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring flexibility to work effectively from both a professional office and work site setting. -Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, or sun.
