The Role

Overview

Procures materials, equipment, and services for plant operations and projects.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Prepares and analyzes RFQ’s. -Compiles, stores and retrieves purchasing records. -Participates in meetings as necessary. -Purchases and expedites delivery of raw materials, equipment, supplies, spare parts, and services to maintain continuous plant operations. -Occasionally required push, pull, bend, climb, and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations. -Communicates with all departments to fill their purchasing needs and to inform them of order status. -Supports strategic sourcing initiatives. -Negotiates contracts and/or purchase agreements for raw materials, spare parts, supplies, services and equipment for new projects under the direction of management. -Participates in and conducts supplier audits. -Analyzes market trends and applies this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions. -Builds and manages vendor relationships. -Fields calls during nights and weekends in the event of emergencies, with potential call out if needed. -Ensures that correct contracts are in place with vendors. -Audits purchase orders and requisitions for clear, correct and specific information.

What You Bring

-High commitment to work processes, procedures, and systems. -Occasionally required to climb stairs. -3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement or related fields. -High School Diploma/GED Equivalent. -Microsoft Office applications required. -Commercial negotiation skills. -Well-developed interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills. -Flexible, adaptable, and organized; can handle numerous tasks simultaneously without losing focus; ability to properly prioritize work. -Occasionally required to stoop and kneel. -Regularly required to work in an office environment which may include long periods of sitting. -Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field. -Detail minded and delivers quality work products. -Use of PPE required in specific areas.
