Tasks

-Engineering design for numerous roadway drainage and design-build projects including collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and bridge replacements across the southeast. -Coordinate with project managers, ecologists, and roadway engineers. -Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system design, post construction water quality structures design, and erosion and sedimentation control. -Utilize various design software including Open Roads, Microsoft Excel, GIS, HEC-RAS, HY8, FlowMaster, ICPR, StormCAD, SMS, SRH2D, and HEC-RAS 2D to assist with the design and preparation of construction plans. -Prepare construction plans and project displays. -Prepare cost estimates, reports and technical memos.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of stormwater treatment using appropriate BMPs suitable for the linear nature of transportation projects. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering -2 or more years of drainage design -Basic understanding of FEMA floodplain regulations -Experience working on TDOT projects a plus. -Knowledge of stormwater design including open channel conveyance and closed drainage systems. -Possess good communication (written and verbal), teamwork skills and the flexibility to complete a wide range of tasks including field work. -Exhibit the initiative and ability to tackle new projects and other challenges regularly. -EIT preferred
