Overview
Install, test, and maintain mechanical piping and HVAC systems

Tasks
-Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers -Loads, transports, and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies -Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications -Inspects worksite to determine presence of obstructions -Tests piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks -Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools -Installs and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meter, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping -Threads pipe using threading machine -Cuts pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine -Bends pipe with pipe-bending tools, machines, or by hand -Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment -Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures -Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe -Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools

What You Bring
-Experience with Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems -The ability to weld pipe supports to structural steel members -The ability to work independently, read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines -Knowledge of field codes -5 years of experience in mechanical systems -Experience with hydronic and refrigeration piping processes -The ability to receive and follow instructions from the supervisor and communicate with co-workers -Journeyman gas fitting license preferred -Experience piping with cooling towers, chillers, boilers, large roof top equipment -Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check -The ability to adapt to the work environment (fast-paced environment, weather changes, small spaces, etc.…) -Possess a strong attention to detail and alert to ensure safety -The ability to lift 50lbs or more -Possess the will to continuously learn -Possess basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work progress, track procurements, and statuses -Positive Work Ethic
