The Role

Overview

Lead land development civil infrastructure design, mentor staff, and liaise with clients.

Tasks

-Contribute to proposal development and cross-sell BKF's services to regional clients -Attend project meetings and represent BKF as a secondary point-of-contact -Organize project workflows, establish design criteria, and delegate tasks to junior staff -Support QA/QC implementation and identify out-of-scope services -Assist in coordinating sub-consultant work and ensure cohesive project execution -Lead technical design and delivery of land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage systems, underground utilities, and grade separations -Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across teams -Manage assigned project elements within established budgets and timelines -Make decisions on specific project elements and consult with senior leadership on complex or critical issues

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program -Strong background in site development, grading, drainage, underground utilities, and entitlement processes -Experienced with local agency standards, permitting processes, and coordination with municipalities and utility owners -Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written, especially in client-facing settings -Proficiency in technical design AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools -Occasional travel required between BKF offices and client sites -California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly preferred, Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) will also be considered -Minimum 4 years of experience in land development design and project delivery
