Prepare and submit construction quotes, manage costs, and ensure safety for concrete projects.

Tasks

-Promotes Cantera’s culture of “Safety First” -Solicit vendor quotes -Prepare proposals and acquire bid bonds -Monitor costs, including labor and time -Prepare quantity takeoffs and estimates in a timely manner -Assist Project Managers with pricing of change orders -Communicates with Safety Professionals to ensure a safe workplace -Develops client relationships for current and future jobs -Prepare job cost budget -Participate in the job turnover processes with other members of the Cantera leadership team -Identifies and quantifies construction elements -Participates in bid reviews with other estimators as necessary -Proactively identifies and halts unsafe work practices, and promptly reports them to management to ensure a safe work environment

What You Bring

The Estimator is responsible for preparing and submitting quotes on the project(s) assigned to achieve safe, quality, and profitable projects completed in a timely manner. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. Work Experience -Strong written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally -OSHA 10 Certified -Must be comfortable with travel on an as needed basis -Able to engage in a variety of tasks, and consistently meet deadlines -CPR Certified -Strong mathematical skills -Strong attention to detail -Strong decision-making/problem-solving skills -Two (2) years Concrete Experience -Four (4) years of Construction Experience with no formal education required -Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam -Able to perform duties independently -First Aid Certified -Excellent time management and organizational skills
