Tasks
-Support the development of construction drawings, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates under the guidance of senior staff -Perform structural calculations and modeling using applicable codes and software tools for marine and waterfront applications -Assist with the design and analysis of coastal and waterfront structures including piers, docks, bulkheads, retaining walls, seawalls, fendering systems, and pile foundations -Contribute to the development of resilient design strategies for coastal protection and adaptation to sea level rise -Prepare figures, technical exhibits, and written documentation to support client meetings, regulatory filings, and design submittals -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, environmental, and permitting specialists to deliver integrated project solutions -Conduct field investigations to assess site conditions and support construction-phase services such as inspections and submittal reviews -Participate in internal QA/QC reviews and apply feedback to improve design quality and efficiency

What You Bring
-3 - 5 years of experience in structural or coastal engineering, with a focus on waterfront or marine projects preferred -Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines, manage priorities, and adapt to shifting project needs -Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred) -Experience with waterfront permitting processes and coordination with regulatory agencies -Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification strongly preferred; PE license progression encouraged -Experience with structural analysis tools such as RISA, STAAD, LPILE, or similar software -Field experience with marine construction, inspections, or materials testing -Strong AutoCAD skills; experience with Revit or other BIM tools is a plus -Familiarity with construction documentation and public bidding processes -Willingness to travel for occasional site visits, inspections, and project meetings. -Excellent technical writing, organization, and communication skills -Knowledge of hydrodynamic and coastal processes or exposure to coastal resilience planning -Familiarity with structural design codes (ASD/LRFD, ACI, AISC, etc.) and marine design guidelines (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC) -Active involvement in professional organizations such as ASCE’s Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI) or PIANC
