Tasks
-Ensures the project’s Survey Control Network plan is properly implemented -Reviews in coordinating and resolving engineering, and construction problems with project personnel -Provides direction to all Survey personnel as necessary to support Survey initiatives across the projects -Ensures the corporate geospatial programs are properly implemented -Assist GBU’s in RFP’s, Studies and FEED’s in Survey expertise -Leads in a broad range of construction work within the surveying discipline. -Develops a process for tracking and maintaining survey equipment measuring and test equipment (M&TE) records -Ensures housekeeping and cleanliness of the project -Ensures the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs -Possesses responsibility for ensuring compliance with procedures -Conducts assessments and provides reports to project supervision/leadership -Possesses responsibility for the safe execution of Survey activities in accordance with applicable SWPPs required for construction (e.g., survey, marine, rail, tunneling, reality capture, remote sensing, metrology, UAS, LiDAR, GNSS, Machine control etc.) and local legislative codes/standards -Coaches project personnel during field assessments and observations, ensuring best practices are being utilized -Prepares requisitions for consumables, services, and equipment -Directs surveying activities of the assigned survey staff, ensuring compliance with procedures. -Leads Field and office training program -Assesses needs and develops survey training plan for the project. -Responsible for working with project teams to ensure training programs are properly set up and being executed by qualified personnel -Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely -Provides technical guidance to project teams on Surveying requirements -Directs the maintenance of survey records for job history -Proactively engages with their teams’ development, competency development/assessment, and feedback -Oversees geospatial activities/scopes -Monitors the application of standard work processes and procedures -Develops a process for tracking and maintaining required training and licenses -Develops Job Hazard Analysis and updates it as needed, or requirements change -Approves timecards, conducts performance assessments, and addresses employee relations concerns -Ensures the Survey personnel assigned to each task have the skill sets necessary to execute the work safely and effectively -Coordinates and schedules field activities with project supervision and staff -Develops and recommends the construction surveying staffing plan for discipline group for approval by the PFE -Coordinates and ensures availability of crews required to execute geospatial activities -Ensures work methods planned and executed safely -Leads the review of project design and engineering documents, model, and model data to ensure their completeness
