Tasks

-Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts. -Collaborate with accounting and HR teams to improve processes and ensure compliance. -Review weekly timesheets for accuracy, approvals, and proper project coding. -Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. -Support benefit administration and coordinate updates with HR. -Provide documentation for audits and assist external auditors as needed. -Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. -Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, reimbursements, and credit card transactions. -Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations in compliance with GAAP. -Record daily cash receipts in Deltek Vantagepoint or similar accounting software. -Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records for new hires, terminations, and pay changes. -Prepare and execute weekly payments via checks and ACH; reconcile vendor statements. -Manage benefits deductions, 401(k) contributions, and wage garnishments. -Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns.

What You Bring

-Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close procedures. -Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach. -Professionalism, discretion, and strong communication skills. -Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. -Experience with Paychex or Paylocity preferred; Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint familiarity a plus. -Experience in the AEC (architecture, engineering, or construction) industry preferred. -Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required). -Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. -Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll, accounts payable, or accounting.

Pay: $33–$41 per hour (commensurate with experience)
