Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data relevant to rail projects.
Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work
Mentorship: Act as a mentor to junior engineers and designers, providing guidance and support to promote their professional growth.

Technical Expertise: Apply your knowledge of rail design principles to solve complex engineering challenges. This includes developing detailed construction cost estimates and project specifications.
Overall, be able to take a project and progress the design from conceptual up to 100% for plans, specifications, and estimates (with manager support).
Technical Support: Collaborate with rail engineers to provide technical support in the development of rail projects, ensuring design meets quality and client standards.
Assign tasks to and direct engineers, designers, and administrative staff
Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure designs meet high technical standards, align with client expectations, and adhere to applicable guidelines/ best practices.

MicroStation Connect, OpenRail experience is a plus.
Knowledge of rail industry regulations, codes, and standards.
Ability to direct and lead engineers and designers to successfully deliver project related deliverables.
Ability to work collaboratively within teams, both national and local.
Ability to lead through clear, effective communication within the team and across departments.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
5-8 years of experience.
Ability to learn from mistakes to improve both management and design experience.
PE or ability to obtain.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and manage your work plan to meet overall schedules.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
Proficiency in CAD software (MicroStation, InRail/ InRoads) is required.
EIT required.
Be able to contribute during project meetings with clients.
Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
Willingness to teach design skills and topics to junior staff.
